Construction Pre-Apprenticeship program

Building Futures Rhode Island is now accepting applications for their Fall 2020 Construction Pre-Apprenticeship program.

Apprentices in the building trades learn skills that lead to rewarding careers - and get paid well to do it. At Building Futures, we help qualified candidates get the training, support, and certifications necessary to begin a career as an apprentice in the building construction trades on large-scale projects like highways, bridges, schools, and commercial projects.

Eligibility

Building Futures serves low-income adults from diverse urban communities. Even if you have no experience in construction, we can get you on the road to a new career. Successful applicants are highly motivated to start a career and ready to do whatever it takes to learn a trade. Additional requirements include:

  • Interest in a career in construction

  • Highly motivated

  • 18+ years old

  • High School graduate or GED

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Authorized to work in the U.S., U.S. citizen or permanent resident

  • Can pass a drug test

  • Ability to lift 50lbs continuously for at least 20 minutes
