Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is an increased need for high-quality substitute teachers to be ready and willing to serve our RI schools and districts. Schools and districts are looking for individuals with the skills and abilities to support new in-person, hybrid, and distance learning models.
The RI Department of Education announces a new FREE substitute teaching training course, with a goal to train upwards of 200 individuals to be substitute teachers for this current school year. In partnership with the Highlander Institute, the Substitute Training Program will ensure that students receive an uninterrupted education supported by caring and qualified adults.
