Personalized Professional Development

This session's Learning Studio will be a personalized form of professional development that allows participants to go deeper into a topic, resource, or tool they have been using in class (or plan to use in class). The structure will be based on the needs of our regular participants, but all are welcome. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring a lessons plan or activity that they are looking to use or improve upon for their class. Or simply be a fly on the wall and checkout what your fellow educators are working on. Sessions are subject to change; please check our website for the most current descriptions, or email Kim.

Session 1: PowerPoint/Presentations

9:00-10:00  Bring a current PowerPoint (or Google Presentation) you are working on to receive personalized assistance with PowerPoint tools and feedback from fellow adult educators and colleagues. Come and see how other adult educators are planning to use PowerPoint in their classrooms!

Participants can also use this session to review/practice using Microsoft OneDrive.

Session 2: Online Bulletin boards & LMS

10:00-11:00  Learn how to quickly set up an online bulletin board for a group brainstorming session with your class using Padlet (you don't even need an account! though it does help...). Participants can also use this session to explore and experiment with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Google Classroom and Schoology. If you are already using something, please bring your account/login information with you.

Session 3: Excel/Spreadsheets

11:00-12:00  Bring a current Excel (or Google Spreadsheet) you are working on to receive personalized assistance with Excel tools and feedback from fellow adult educators and colleagues. Come and see how other adult educators are planning to use Excel in their classrooms!

Participants can also use this session to review/practice using Microsoft OneDrive.

Session 4: Educreations/iPad Review

12:00-1:00  Practice using Educreations (on an iPad or ANY computing device) to either create lessons for your class, or to prepare your students to create their own videos.

Participants can also use this session to review/practice using an iPad.
